AUKEY Gaming Headset Review

With family living abroad, Skype has been a godsend. However, with Skype, a good headset is a must. The Aukey Gaming Headset has proven to do the trick perfectly when using my computer.

The AUKEY Gaming Headset comes presented in a well designed box. The scorpion logo is carried from box to headset as well as the black and red colour scheme.

The quality of the headset is pretty decent. It has an adjustable headband which is also padded giving it great support and added comfort for long term use.
The speakers themselves are really good too. They have quite a big bass on them which is good when listening to music, although can make it sound as though people are shouting when you're talking on Skype.
I have had various other headsets in the past and the only flaw I have found to this headset is that the microphone isn't flexible however this doesn't effect the quality of the microphone itself which is very clear.
It has a 2.5m lead making it really easy to manoeuvre when using the headset.

I have used the AUKEY Gaming headset for plenty of different things including listening to music, playing games online, watching movies and TV programs, chatting online and watching videos online.

The box came with a simple instruction manual as well as a 24 month warranty card and the headset itself.

The headset is one of the lower priced headsets on the market at only £14.99 however I would wholeheartedly say that it could quite easily sell at double the price as the quality you receive is brilliant.

You can find this headset for sale here.

AUKEY Mechanical Keyboard Review

"You can create art and beauty with a computer." - Steven Levy
This quote simply means you can use your computer to create art but what if you could make your computer art? See where I'm coming from? Well, with this keyboard, you can create your computer into your own little piece of art.

Aukey Mechanical Gaming Keyboard

The Aukey Mechanical Gaming Keyboard definitely both looks and feels Mechanical. With its brushed aluminium surface, visible screws and black keys, it comes across as slightly robotic.

The gaming keyboard has 104 full keys so their is no conflicting keys as well as a customisable RBG backlight with various effects.
This keyboard is a plug and play keyboard and require no drivers to use.

Unfortunately, even though both sold in US and UK, it is is presented with the US key format. The biggest difference I find with this is the "enter" key is a thin strip which if you're used to using the UK "J" shaped enter key, means you accidentally click on to other letters.

One of the keyboards largest selling points is the lighting effects. With a high level of customisation, the backlights allow you to choose from 9 preset lighting patterns. My personal favourite being the rainbow one.

It is built with quality. Aukey have stated that each key has a life of around 50 million clicks which is significantly higher than an average Keyboard.

In conclusion, this keyboard is stylish, easy to use (once you've learnt the keyboard format), easy to customise and overall, brilliant quality.

This keyboard is on sale here!

 Disclosure:
We were gifted this keyboard for the purpose of this review. All thoughts, photos and opinions are my own.

AUKEY VR Headset Review

Virtual reality has always been something that interested me. When I was offered the chance to review the Aukey VR headset, I couldn't say no.

"virtual reality (or VRheadset is a device that you wear over your eyes like a pair of goggles. It blocks out all external light and shows you an image on high-definition screens in front of your eyes. The goal of the VR headset is to immerse you in a game." - Yahoo

This headset is a mobile phone based VR headset which means it requires you to download apps on your phone and place your phone in the headset case. Unfortunately, the headset doesn't recommend any apps to download for you but they're easy enough to find on the app store.

The VR headset is made from black plastic and has a padded elastic head strap to keep it on while you view. It is quite bulky but works really well and because it is adjustable, even my 3 year old daughter could use it.

I used an iPhone 7 Plus to view however also tried with my iPhone 6 which worked well too.
The Aukey VR Headset is compatible with any smartphone between 3.7 - 5.5" which pretty much covers most iPhones, samsung and LG.

My only quibble is that for some games, you require a bluetooth controller which you can pick up pretty cheap (I found one on Amazon for £8.98)

The Aukey VR Headset is a more affordable take on VR. They are selling the headset on amazon for just £16.99. To view the headset, click here.
To top it all off, it came with a 24 month warranty with a one day delivery slot using Amazon Prime

Kealive Makeup Brush Set Review

"Look at this stuff, isn't it neat? Wouldn't you think my collections complete.
I've got blushes & brushes-a-plenty. I've got mattes & metallics galore. You want lipstick? I've got twenty! But who cares, no big deal, I want more!"

The Kealive Makeup Brush Set is a professional cosmetic brush set with extremely soft makeup brushes with an accompanying stylish bicast leather black makeup bag making it very well presentable and packaged.

The brushes are soft bristles and lovely to use when applying makeup.

The brushes included are:

  • Foundation brush: Use a foundation brush to create a more transparent base makeup, avoid thick foundation.
  • Blush brush & Contouring Brush: Two purposes, for blush and shading powder blooming.
  • Angle Eyebrow Brush: For eyebrow outline and eyebrow color.
  • Lip Brush: For lip outline and lip gloss color.
  • Eyeliner Brush: For eyeliner outline
  • Eye Shadow Brush: For the entire eye shadow covered with color.
  • Eye Shadow Sponge Brush: Key modifications look, suitable for emphasizing color. It can make eye shadow color uniformity and rich three-dimensional.
  • Eyebrow Comb & Lash Brush: Sort out and separate the eyebrow and lash which bonded together.

I am really happy with the quality of these brushes and I am yet to find a fault. They are soft, leave a smooth finish and with them being white tipped, you can see what colours you've used making them easier to clean.

This set currently costs £6.99 and is available for Next Day delivery on Amazon Prime.

KidloLand App Review

When it comes to tablets for T, I am very apprehensive. What can a three year old learn on a tablet that wouldn't be better done without technology involved? I'm not the biggest fan of gadgets for small children but I have to admit, I am pleasantly surprised with KidloLand.

KidloLand is a child friendly educational app that can help teach kids phonics, numbers, colours, shapes and nursery rhymes as well as solving puzzles and putting together jigsaws.

KidloLand

Some of the games on the app were puzzle based which really took T's interest. She particularly liked one which reminded me of a Python Tile Puzzle however rather than sliding them, they rotated - much more suitable for a 3 year old.

Powerbanks are becoming a thing. They are absolutely brilliant inventions, especially when smart phone batteries don't seem to last as long as the old Nokia 3210. They are portable and really handy to keep in the bottom of your bag or car as a just in case. Check out my review on my Aukey Portable PowerBank.
