Interview with a Mummy - Blogger #6

Name: Nat Halfpenny
How old are you? 27
Where are you from? North Wales
How many children do you have? 4
How old are your children? I have 5 year old twins, a 4 year old and a 1 year old.
What are their genders? 3 girls and a boy.

1. What is your blog url? handfulofhalfpennys.co.uk

2. What was the inspiration behind your name?
The inspiration came from people constantly commenting 'ooh you've got your hands full' when I was out with my children. It was originally my Instagram handle but I have since changed that. I chose the name because in the beginning I thought the blog would be all about my children. Our surname is Halfpenny. They are my handful of halfpennys.

3. What made you decide to start blogging?
I have always loved to write and have done different things through the years and lots of people told me I should do it. One day I decided to bite the bullet and that was that.

4. Is blogging a job or a hobby to you?
I'd say it is a very part time job. I hope to make more of a career out of it in the future but at the moment with a baby and no childcare I find it difficult to dedicate too much time to it.

5. Do you think there is any stigma to being a parent blogger?
I think so yes.

6. What is your favourite post you have written? (Please link)

7. What is your favourite post you have read? (Please link)
I read this a while ago and it stayed with me. Such brilliant writing and such a gorgeous tribute http://www.writelikenooneswatching.com/2016/03/a-letter-for-you-mum.html

8. Have you ever had any rude comments from family members or friends about your blog? If so, what?
I haven't really, everyone is super supportive!

9. Have you ever had any rude comments from a stranger if you've ever mentioned your blog? If so, what?
Again, not really.

10. Have you ever had any nice comments from a strangers you've ever mentioned you blog? If so, what?
Since I started I have had lots of people call me in the street and say 'I loved that post' or tell me they like my blog. At first it was a bit cringe to deal with but in time I've started to see it for what it is, actually a bit lovely.

11. Do you have any advice to give others starting out?
Take your time, don't compare your beginning to someone elses middle.

12. Any final words of wisdom?
If you are thinking of starting a blog, go for it. Worst thing that could happen is you'll be the only one who ever reads it, but even then what a lovely way to keep a collection of all your memories.

13. Please link your Facebook, Instagram and Twitter
