My thoughts on Nuby UK

+Nuby UK  is an affordable baby brand which I noticed my local +Poundworld  had started selling. We use Nuby dummies anyway with R which I believe are good quality dummies so I thought I would treat myself to a few other things that they sell, especially at £1 each!

Firstly, I decided to buy a Snack Keeper for L. I've seen these before in other shops and have always thought they were a good idea however never noticed them at the time I needed them so although I noted them, I forgot about them when the time came.

The Nuby Simple Toddler Training Snack Keeper is for age 12m+ and came in pink and purple or blue and yellow.
I bought this for L so she could have cut up fruit kept in them while she wanders around the living room, hopefully saving me finding slices of apple and orange segments trampled into the carpet.
She really liked the idea of this bowl although did struggle with getting her hand into the lid and ended up taking the lid off the bowl which I thought did kind of defeat the whole purpose of the bowl for us unfortunately.
The fact the bowl has handles was a bonus so even though she removed the lid, the fruit seemed to stay in the bowl as she didn't spill it while walking.

Overall, I do really like this bowl and it has helped with snack times and spillages with the toddler.

Secondly, I bought the Toddler Training Fork and Spoon. These both have a deep curved handle making it easier for toddlers to feed themselves. Again, these were bought for L who is currently 19 month old and still refusing to use cutlery as fingers is so much easier!

I gave her the spoon to use to feed herself a yogurt. This worked really well as she could easily get the spoon to her mouth without the struggle of a long straight spoon having an awkward angle.
With them being chunky short handles, it worked out perfectly for her to feed herself the yogurt with little spillage.

Overall, I am really happy with the design of the spoon however I am yet to find a meal the fork can work with. (We tried pasta but L was smarter than the fork and used her fingers!)

Thirdly, I bought these dummies. As I said above, R uses Nuby dummies so when I saw these in Poundworld I had to buy a couple.

The teat is exactly the same as the Nuby dummies we buy from +Boots UK  however these are circular and unfortunately, that makes them a bit more awkward to give to a 7 month old.
She took to the dummies fine however whenever she brought her hands to her face, she knocked the dummy from her mouth as it is quite bulky and doesn't lay flat to her face.

Overall, these dummies are cheaper than the standard 2 pack however I will only use these as emergencies as they were a lot more hassle than they were worth with R.

Finally, Nuby have these extremely cute Baby Led Feeding Catch All Bibs which are absolutely amazing! I have had my share of plastic catch bibs and these are by far the best I have owned. They are a thick plastic making them more durable, they are really easy to wipe down and they have 4 adorable designs - Tiger, Panda, Lion and Penguin.

I can not fault these bibs in the slightest and they have been used by both L and R. The pouch on the front opens just enough that it catches anything that falls, they are a decent size covering the majority of clothing and seem really comfortable around the neck (unlike some I have used that have dug in or even cut the neck.)

Overall, I am most pleased with this bargain purchase and will definitely buy more. Hopefully, next time I go into my local Poundworld they have the other 2 designs I am missing!

Nuby is an affordable baby brand which I will definitely buy more of.

My first Slimming World award!

So I did it! I got my first Slimming World certificate. Although it may not be much to some, 7lbs is a big achievement to me. I have been very slowly losing weight (usually 1-2lb a week) so it's taken its time to get this far.

I have had a bit of a bad week this week too with a couple of non-SW friendly meals however I've still managed to lose.

I am really happy with this progress and hopefully I may manage to get my 1 Stone award within the next few weeks!

Wish me luck!
1/2 a stone down, another 2 to go to reach target weight.

NCC Online Childcare and Early Learning Course #1

Childcare is something I have always loved to do. I have always loved looking after children and have three of my own. When I was younger, I went to college to study Childcare and Early Learning however I will be honest and say that I was too immature to stick to the course and ended up dropping out. It's not something I am proud of now that I look back.
I can't change my past but I can change my future!

I had been looking into online courses for a while but never had the courage to do one. NCC Online changed that! They gave me the opportunity to review one of their online courses in exchange for an honest review and I jumped at the chance.

www.ncconline.co.uk/

When I first logged on to NCC Online, I was really pleased with how user friendly their website is. I clicked on view my courses, Childcare and Early Learning and I was off.

On the initial page, I found it really helpful as there is an introduction and user guide. As someone new to online learning, I wasn't sure how to do everything and what was needed so found it a good start to the course.
I found that how they explained it in the user guide was really simple and easy to understand which made me feel a lot more at ease about the course itself.

Each module has a small summary on the homepage so at a later date, I could easily find which module I'm wanting to reread if unsure on something.

The Childcare course is made up of 14 modules and a final exam. The modules come in PDF files which means they are perfect for printing off if you want to write notes on them. I decided to do this as it means whenever I get a spare 5 minutes, I can pick up my course and read a couple more pages.

I am currently working my way through Module 1 which I am finding really interesting. The course is very in depth and even incorporates other skills into itself like Child Psychology as the first module is all about Growth and Development and how a child thinks and learns.

Overall, my initial thoughts on this NCC Online course is that the website is very user friendly, easy for beginners and explains everything simply (yet in detail) so you know everything you've got to do to complete your course.
I shall keep you updated on my thoughts through out this course and hopefully, once I've finished... I will pass!
I am really looking forward to this!
