3 Family recipes to make with pasta!

Mince is one of the favourite meats in this house for dinner!

This is a list and quick recipes of our top 3 pastarecipes that are 3 year old and 9 month old friendly and bursting with vegetables!


1. Lasagne


Ingredients:
250g beef mince
250g mushrooms (sliced)
284ml double cream
1 large egg
175g cheddar (grated)
9-12 pasta lasagne sheets
300g jar roasted vegetable sauce

Method:

Fry the mince until browned in a large pan.

Add the mushrooms and vegetable sauce to the pan and stir.
Use a high heat until sauce bubbles and then lower down to simmer for 25-30 minutes.
Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Preheat oven to 180'C/ Gas mark 4

While the mince is simmering, whisk the egg, cream and apx 125g of the cheese to make the white sauce.

Preboil water in a kettle.
Part cook the lasagne sheets for 5 minutes.

Layer the mince, lasagne sheets and white sauce over 2 - 3 layers (dependent on size of dish).

Pour remaining cheese sauce over the top of the lasagne and sprinkle remaining cheese over the top. Spread evenly.

Bake in oven for 30 minutes or until bubbling.

Leave to stand for 5 minutes and then serve!


2. Tuna Pasta Bake


Ingredients:
2 tins of Tuna (drained)
1 tin of Sweetcorn (drained)
400g dried pasta
1 tuna pasta bake sachet
milk (as instructed in sachet)
50g cheese (grated)
1 packet ready salted crisps (crushed)

Method:

Boil water and put pasta to cook in a large pan.

While pasta is cooking, mix tuna, sweetcorn and packet sachet (made up as instructed) and mix together.

Once pasta is cooked drain the pasta then mix the pasta and the sauce together in the pan and let simmer for 10 minutes.

Pour into an oven proof dish and sprinkle cheese and crushed crisps on top and bake for a further 15 minutes.

Leave to stand for 5 minutes and serve.
Goes lovely with a side of mixed vegetables!

Maybe get a bit adventurous and add peas, broccoli, cauliflower or other vegetables into the tuna and sweetcorn mix!

3. Three Cheese Pasta


Ingredients:
400g dried pasta
1 tub of soft cheese
100g cheddar cheese (grated)
50g red Leicester (grated)
Dash of milk

Method:

Boil water and put pasta to cook in large pan.

While pasta is cooking, mix all other ingredients together in a pan and cook until sauce is a thick consistency. If too thick, add more milk and cook through.

Drain off pasta and mix cheese sauce into large pan.

Cook for another 5 minutes to heat and mix completely through and voila!

Maybe add some ham into the mix if you're feeling adventurous!
Chopped peppers, mixed vegetables, mushrooms, chicken chunks, pepperoni... the list goes on!
This is the simplest pasta we make! and it goes down a treat!
